BABIP - Batting average on balls in play - a good way to determine if a pitcher is getting lucky or pitching well
DIPS - Defense Independent Pitching Statistic - Unlike ERA, it guages what a pitcher can control (hr/9, bb/9, k/9 and ground ball percentage) and ignores what they can't control (h/9, poor defense, terrible relievers that let all their runners in). It is on the same scale as ERA
EqBRR - Equivalent Baserunning Runs - quantifies how many runs a players baserunning abilities adds over the course of a season
FRAA - Fielding Runs Above Average - attempts to quantify fielding abilities in terms of runs

OPS+ - On-base Percentage plus Slugging adjusted for park and league (100 is average)
Southpaw - a left handed pitcher
WARP3 - Wins Above Replacement Player (adjusted for all-time) - guages offensive and defensive abilities in terms of wins added over a replacement player
WHIP - walks + hits per innings pitched
